Savannah, GA (May 14, 2026) — The Savannah Traffic Club (STC) welcomed more than 60 transportation, logistics, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain professionals to its recent Lunch & Learn event featuring Emily Dunn, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM). The event, held at Crosswinds Golf Club on May 12th, combined industry education, workforce development, and strategic collaboration opportunities for Savannah-area businesses operating throughout the supply chain sector.

The program began with STC President Lee Smith (President and CEO, Outsource Logistics) and Treasurer Sarah Thomas awarding scholarships to five students from Georgia Southern University pursuing careers in logistics, transportation, and supply chain management. Scholarship recipients included Riley White, Maggie McGinley, Thomas Parker, Caroline Parker and Eli Kitchens, alongside Professor Dr. Gerald Burke, who was also in attendance to support the students and GSU’s continued partnership with the Savannah Traffic Club.

The scholarship presentation reflected one of the Savannah Traffic Club’s core missions: supporting workforce development and investing directly into the next generation of industry professionals entering the transportation and logistics field. Through fundraising efforts and member support throughout the year, the STC continues to provide educational opportunities to students pursuing careers critical to the long-term success of the region’s supply chain economy.

Following the scholarship presentations, STC Board Member Kevin Hayes of ContainerPort Group introduced Dunn, who brings more than 20 years of experience across business development, operations, finance, international trade, transportation, and logistics.

During her presentation, Dunn provided attendees with a detailed overview of CCM’s evolving role within the chassis marketplace and discussed several major operational developments currently underway throughout the Southeast region. Early in the presentation, she clarified CCM’s organizational structure and emphasized that the company is owned by a private equity group and operates independently.

Dunn also discussed NexGen’s (CCM-affiliated company) continued investment in infrastructure and equipment, including the opening of a new depot facility in Powder Springs, Georgia. The new location is designed to expand operational flexibility, improve service capacity, and support additional freight volume throughout the market. Attendees received insight into the services and operational capabilities that will be available through the facility as the organization continues to position itself for long-term growth.

Additional topics included the company’s red chassis refurbishment initiative, fleet capacity expansion, active fleet age management, evolving market dynamics, and the increasingly complex nature of today’s chassis environment. Dunn acknowledged the operational challenges many motor carriers, beneficial cargo owners, and logistics providers face while navigating the modern chassis landscape, while also outlining strategies CCM is implementing to improve equipment availability, operational efficiency, and cost predictability. “At CCM, we’re continuously investing in modernized equipment, expanded fleet capabilities, and operational improvements that help our customers navigate an increasingly complex supply chain environment,” Dunn said. “Our focus is not just on growing capacity, but on evolving alongside the industry to deliver the right solutions for motor carriers, cargo owners, and logistics partners while improving reliability, efficiency, and long-term service across the Southeast.”

One of the most discussed topics of the afternoon was CCM’s damage waiver program, introduced earlier in 2026. Dunn described the program as a more predictable and efficient alternative designed to reduce rebilling complications while helping companies better manage and forecast chassis-related expenses. She also reviewed operational comparisons between chassis pool participation and net leasing models, highlighting opportunities for improved performance, streamlined operations, and potential cost savings.

The presentation concluded with the major announcement of a new partnership initiative between Consolidated Chassis Management and the Savannah Traffic Club that will provide club members with access to tiered pricing opportunities and an advanced commitment discount program through CCM. Under the initiative, membership in the Savannah Traffic Club will be required in order to participate in the program and receive the associated benefits. As participation in the program grows, the opportunity for greater savings grow as well — reinforcing the idea that there is strength in numbers throughout Savannah’s logistics and transportation community. Companies interested in participating are encouraged to Join the Savannah Traffic Club at this link.

Leadership from the STC views the partnership as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the business community while delivering direct operational value to club members throughout the logistics and transportation sector. As participation grows, the Savannah Traffic Club believes the initiative has the potential to significantly reduce chassis-related costs while simultaneously strengthening industry engagement and supporting the STC’s workforce development mission.

“This partnership represents a true win-win for our industry,” said Lee Smith. “CCM has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the Savannah market, and through this collaboration, Savannah Traffic Club members will have access to meaningful operational advantages while also helping support scholarships, professional networking, workforce development, and continued investment in the future of our industry.”

The Savannah Traffic Club encourages all transportation and logistics professionals throughout the region to become members and participate in upcoming educational programs, scholarship fundraising events, and industry initiatives designed to strengthen Savannah’s position as a leading global logistics gateway.

Looking ahead, the Savannah Traffic Club will continue building on that momentum through additional member programming, business opportunities, and fundraising initiatives designed to support both the regional logistics community and the next generation of industry professionals. Upcoming events include the Savannah Traffic Club Golf Tournament returning to Crosswinds Golf Club this September 2026, as well as preparations for the organization’s annual Triggers & Totes fundraiser scheduled for early March 2027.
