CLG Expands in Savannah with High Capacity, Port-Centric Facility

CLG Savannah Expansion

Savannah, GA — May 6, 2026— Coastal Logistics Group (CLG), a leading third-party logistics provider, today announced the successful relocation of its secondary Savannah operations to a new facility at 135 Distribution Drive. The move, just down the street from its previous location at 40 Sonny Perdue Drive, reflects CLG’s continued investment in the Savannah market and its commitment to strengthening support for customers operating through the Port of Savannah.

CLG will continue full operations at its headquarters at 50 Sonny Perdue Drive, reinforcing its multi-facility model—with both facilities positioned near the Georgia Ports and major transportation corridors. Together, these facilities enable CLG to deliver a comprehensive range of logistics services supporting high-volume cargo movement between the port and inland distribution networks. The move also supports greater connectivity across CLG’s East Coast network, including its locations in Charleston, SC, and Norfolk, VA, enabling more efficient coordination of cargo flows across key port markets.

CLG SavannahFacility Highlights

“Savannah continues to play a critical role in how freight moves across the Southeast, and this facility allows us to better support that demand while addressing the constraints in today’s freight environment,” said Chad Barrow, Founder & CEO of Coastal Logistics Group. “By combining dock capacity, scalable yard space, and integrated transportation, we’ve built an operation that improves speed, flexibility, and cost control while reducing inefficiencies across the supply chain.”

Built for High Volume and High Velocity
The new facility is engineered to increase throughput, support faster turn times, and enhance CLG’s ability to deliver flexible, port-centric logistics solutions. With 50 dock doors and 194 dedicated trailer parking positions, CLG has created an operation designed to address one of the market’s most persistent logistics challenges: limited access to secure, scalable trailer staging space near the port.

Integrated Transportation
CLG’s expanded, high-capacity yard supports streamlined drop-and-hook operations that enable faster trailer turns, reduced detention costs, and efficient off-port staging—keeping freight moving and lowering overall transportation expenses. This is further enhanced by CLG Truckload Solutions (CLG-TS), which integrates over-the-road capacity with warehouse and yard operations to improve coordination, increase service reliability, and further accelerate turn times.

Measurable Operational Advantages
This operational model is especially valuable for importers and carriers moving through high-volume gateways like the Port of Savannah, where drayage rates, chassis-related charges, and other time-based costs continue to impact total landed costs. Recent studies have shown that Savannah’s growing role as a cost-efficient gateway offers potential savings of more than $1,000 per container compared to certain West Coast routing options.

Security and Compliance
In addition to its high throughput capabilities, the facility is built to the highest security standards, with CTPAT compliance, a fully fenced and controlled-access perimeter, 24/7 on-site security, and an AI-enabled camera system that provides comprehensive visibility across dock operations, yard activity, and warehouse space.
