The Savannah Traffic Club Awards five Scholarships to GSU students and Installs the 2016/2017 Officers and Board of Directors

The Savannah Traffic Club held its annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon and Installation of Officers and Directors for the upcoming year of 2016/2017.

Five Georgia Southern students were awarded a $2,000 each to continue their pursuit to receive a  Logistics in Transportation degree.

The students that were awarded scholarships were Austin Campagnolo, Adam Clay, Shawn Kuykendall, Emily Seiler and Jonathan Templeton.

The students were in either their junior or senior year at GSU.

Dr. Ben Skipper gave a brief summary of what Georgia Southern is planning and where some of the former recipients of the STC scholarship awards were doing at this time.  Each student gave a brief summary of how they decided to pursue a LIT degree.

After the award scholarships were presented, Susan L. Barnard, current STC president, gave a summary of what events were held in 2015/2016 to be able to give the scholarships totaling $10,000 to the students.

The STC President's Award was presented by Susan Barnard to Jed Young of Port City Logistics for his outstanding work on contacting the membership and other interested individuals of logistical and transportation companies through Constant Contact and his leadership in the Business Spotlight of Georgia Ports Authority in June of 2015.  In addition, Jed Young also assisted in the STC annual oyster roasts held at Captain Butler's Retreat.

The new officers and directors of the Savannah Traffic Club for the 2016/2017 year are:  President -Ryan Faulk of Savannah River Logistics,

1st Vice President - Jed Young of Port City Logistics, 2nd Vice President- Susan Salem of TXN Intermodal, Secretary-Treasurer - Sarah Thomas, Parliamentarian - Susan Barnard.  The Board of Directors will be:  Bridget Caldwell of Carmichael International Services, Robert Dowd of Port City Logistics, Paul Gigis of G & P Trucking, Lisa Fletcher of Heavyweight Transport, Inc., Rob Rowe of B-H Transfer, Bill Stankiewicz of Atlanta Supply Chain, Lou Stover of Outsource Logistics, Michael Sullivan of The Sullivan Group and Brad Young of Estes Express.
