Job Description: Business Development Manager

 

Department: Sales – Coastal Logistics Group

 

Reports to: COO

 

Job Objective:

 

Responsible for Business Development activities for the company.  Works as an integral part of the BD team and provides an excellent example in working toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Utilize contacts and experience to procure additional revenue streams
  • Assists with the development of the business plan and sales strategy
  • Maintains accurate records of all activity reports
  • Manages current business relationships and seeks new accounts through sales and marketing
  • Assist Inside sales in preparation of proposals and possess strong client presentation skills
  • Experience of identifying opportunities, lead management and closing on sales

 

Relationships and Roles:

 

  • Accepts counseling to improve selling skills.
  • Maintains contact with all prospects to ensure high level of client satisfaction.
  • Ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

 

Job Specifications:

 

  • 3 – 5 years of experience with a proven track record of outside sales.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions, such as CRM packages.  Also experience with large, complex organizations is a plus.
  • Experience within the Logistics, Trucking, Import/Export, warehouse/distribution services industry
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and requirements.  
  • Proven attention to detail
