Job Description – Transportation & Customer Service Representative


Company Description


Schilli was started 1968 located in Delphi, Indiana. Schilli Motor Lines was a bulk carrier hauling fertilizer products, which added a few flatbeds and a few vans to fulfill the needs of customers.


That simple business model of listening to customer’s needs, providing personalized service and growth to meet our customer’s needs was the cornerstone of Schilli Transportation Services and the birth of truck lines divided by the mode of transportation to fulfill customer demands as well as dedicated service operations of vans and specialty trailers for specific customer needs. Capacity to handle trailers such as; Flatbed, Step Deck, Drop Deck, RGN, Vans, Vans with Cranes, Refrigeration Vans, and Vehicle Haulers. Schilli Transportation Services provides transportation consulting for customers by designing and implementing programs for all phases of transportation. Schilli Transportation Services also provides management services in the area of human resources and accounting.


In the early 1990’s, the same concept launched Schilli Distribution Services to provide warehousing to complete an all in one true 3PL provider. Providing such services as; Supply Chain Management, Product Distribution, Inventory Management, Order Fulfillment, Multi-Modal Logistics Management, Carrier Management, Export Packaging, Containerization, Freight Manipulation, Port Services, Drayage, and Storage.


Today, Schilli Distribution Services and Schilli Transportation Services are a full service logistics management company supported by 750 power units to provide or fulfill transportation needs including equipment sales and leasing, warehousing and distribution, and transportation for everything from building products to household goods, from steel coils to automobiles, virtually any commodity.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities




·        Ability to Utilize both Company Brokerage as well as Company Tractor and Trailer assets.

·        Promote and sell Schilli Logistics capabilities and services.

·        Find and develop new customer relationships.

·        Utilizing sales software to identify and log potential customers.

·        Must be positive, high energy, self-motivated, and professional.

·        Strong presentation skills, formal and informal, will be necessary for customer visits.

·        Organization skills is required.

·        Communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email and social networks.

·        Develop customer relationships and contacts at multiple levels.

·        Collaborate and/or drive business reviews and customer meetings.

·        Contribute to the development and management of an annual account plan and budget.

·        Manage customer expectations through the use of standard operating procedures, key performance indicators and other account metrics.

·        Identify opportunities to penetrate the account, pulling in subject matter experts and additional resources. as needed to help sell diverse services.

·        Understand the general supply chain terminology, concepts and vertical expertise.

·        Identify areas to appropriately leverage other resources, including internal Schilli and external resources to meet customer expectations.


Required Qualifications


·        3-5 Years Experience in Transportation Industry & Services.

·        Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated.

·        Strong communication skills.

·        Effective negotiation and problem solving skills.

·        Ability to think outside the box.

·        Competitive attitude is a must.

·        Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results

·        Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others

·        Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively

·        Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and internet
